Faye Davies

Hi, I'm Faye. I'm a Senior Lecturer in Media and Cultural Theory at the Birmingham School of Media. The purpose of this blog is to map my research journey and also to enable general discussion of popular culture and cultural identity around my specialist areas of sexuality, gender, media education and interactive culture.

I am also currently undertaking PhD research into representations of sexuality and gender in US television and how these are impacted by production cultures and contexts.

All opinions posted here are my own.

A link to my article 'The Jeremy Kyle Show: Middle Class Territory' at FlowTV: a critical forum on television and media culture published by the Department of Radio, Television, and Film at the University of Texas at Austin. Flow’s mission is to provide a space where the public can discuss the changing landscape of contemporary media.
